Here’s all you need to know about Collagen Induction Therapy and follow-up sessions to keep your skin glowing.

Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) can do wonders for your skin, your wellbeing and your life. It can restore your self-esteem. It can give you the confidence to go outside without a make-up shield. Even more importantly, it can help the image in the mirror reflect who you are inside — it’s no wonder that so many people are waking up to the benefits of Collagen Induction Therapy.

Those that are familiar with CIT will know that it can improve your life in many ways, making your skin look more hydrated and supple, giving it added radiance, shaving years off your face and improving the appearance of scars.

Is One Collagen Induction Therapy Session Enough?

Like most things worth having in life, healthy skin is something you need to work at. It needs to be treated and cared for. Just as you maintain a healthy exercise regime to keep your body looking great, you need to commit to looking after your skin if you want the best results.

Your skin is your largest organ, and all too often, it’s taken for granted. We damage our skin all the time through everyday activities such as spending time outside in the sun. Smiles and frowns can even cause your skin to lose elasticity as you age. Of course, you should enjoy your life and have fun, but with all the damage we do to our skin, it’s obvious why it requires continual care. For optimal results, Collagen Induction Therapy should be part of your regular routine.

How Many Collagen Induction Therapy Sessions Do I Need?

This is where things get complicated. Everyone is different, which is why you need a plan tailored to your skin’s needs. Here at Sublime Beauty, we offer a free personalised plan created by a qualified and experienced beauty therapist. After an initial consultation, you’ll know how many sessions you should have and how frequently you should have them.

Here’s what we can tell you — once the skin has calmed down, patients almost always notice a healthy glow to their skin after their first session. Changes can occur in the skin over the course of a few weeks, so patients will see continual improvements as collagen production continues.

We can tell you that some patients will only require a single treatment, once a year, to get the results they need and want. However, for many patients, we’ll recommend a series of treatments (usually four) spaced roughly six weeks apart. For patients with deeper wrinkles, stretch marks or scars, we recommend five or more sessions at four-week intervals.

If we recommend more sessions, there is a very good reason behind it, and it’s all down to science. Your skin has seven layers. Some conditions, like pigmentation issues, are shallow. They sit on the top few layers of the skin. This means they are easier to penetrate, and results can be seen after only a few sessions.

However, wrinkles and lines are formed deeper down in the dermis. They are more permanent, which means more treatments will be needed to make an impact. If you want to make a real difference to your skin, you have to be dedicated. Attending sessions in line with your personalised plan will create smoother, younger-looking, rejuvenated skin while improving elasticity and texture.
